Great Sleep in Lovely Room

We stayed in the Penthouse (the one with the big window) so our review is based on that room and not others. Great room - really spacious and had everything we wanted. The best bits were either the bed or the view. We don't normally sleep very well in hotels because generally they are too hot and the beds are a bit too small. Not the case here. Brilliant that this room had opening windows for fresh air. The bed was huge and extremely luxurious. A lovely little touch having curtains which meant that I (early riser) could get up early and not disturb my wife. There were proper radiators in the room which meant we could also turn the heating up (it was a very cold November weekend) so it was wonderful that sort the heat out to what we wanted. The staff were excellent. They really helped us with things (we arrived at the start of Omicron Lockdown) and nothing was too much effort. Loved the loan of umbrella and the offer of luggage storage. Hosts thought abut what guests would need. There's no bar or restaurant but there is a lovely looking lounge and breakfast room which we didn't use because we had our own space. But they looked very nice. With so many restaurants and cafes around this in totally understandable. We heard no noise, even with the window open. But it must be said we were 6 floors up and everything needed to shut before 8pm (later 5pm). This is a city centre hotel so people would have to be aware of that. Revellers, trams and road sweepers are all part of the area. I would recommend this hotel and particularly this room if you want to go to that expense (it was pretty reasonable and I think much better value for money than some monopoly hotel chain).

Huge room! Great location! Great Breakfast...

Location is great, middle of everything. Very easy to get to from the Park and Ride that was recommended to us by the hotel. Room was much bigger than expected! We had a canal view room which was nice! Breakfast was good. Staff was kind and helpful!

The room was super clean, the room was spacious

We came to Amsterdam for a short weekend with a family (3 and 5 y.o) and stayed at Dikker & Thijs hotel. Of course there are many great options in Amsterdam for your stay, but we were very happy with the selection. While the hotel looks kind of old, I guess it’s a norm for European cities, the room was super clean, the room was spacious (I think they call it superior) and did fit all 4 of us, very bright with lots of windows and tall ceilings, and a beautiful view. The beds ver comfortable and it has nice noise isolation. It was direct tram ride, 10 minutes to Amsterdam central train station (or about 25-30 min walk). Location is also perfect with lots of restaurants around.
